As well as offering specialist cycling holidays, AYP offers the perfect location to focus your training around the three "tri" disciplines.


SWIMMING

On site we have a 12x6 metre swimming pool featuring a Fastlane Jetstream. This works on the same principles as an endless pool but with the added benefits of being in a large open pool.

The Fastlane produces a smooth, quiet and turbulence free current to swim against. The current is ideal for one swimmer to train against and as the current broadens and deepens it is appropriate for two swimmers to train side by side. The high performance 6HP system is designed for the competitive swimmer and is suitable for interval sprint training with a top speed of 1.08 100 metre pace. There is also a swim mirror which lies on the floor of the pool providing instant feedback on your stroke.

The Fastlane is perfect for focused training sessions, and able to mimic long open water efforts more effectively than lengths of a pool.


OPEN WATER SWIMMING

If you are looking for some open water swim training then 4k from our base at Thuy there is a large open water reservoir, available subject to local conditions.


RUNNING

From our base there are some great runs to discover, whether it be on the flat or taking in some steep hills. Running in this area can offer fantastic training and spectacular scenery.

There is also a great undulating 10k route around the local lake. There are miles of off-road routes through the local woods offering welcome shade from the sun during the summer months.

We are always on hand to share recommended routes according to whether you want a 6k road run or a 20k multi terrain run! If you fancy some more testing runs then head up into the mountains and choose from one of the many routes available!

There are also many races over the year that you can take part in if your stay coincides.
