Our Favourite Rides

Have you been keeping up with our favourite local rides blog over the last few weeks? We've posted 6 local rides so far and have plenty more to come. Check them out here.

This week's ride is part of the Look Marmotte Granfondo Pyrenees, an epic sportif which runs every August. We still have places left for the event and training leading up to it so send us a message if you're up for the challenge.

Over the next few weeks, I'll continue to add some more of our favourite rides onto the blog for you to see where we cycle to from our base at Allons y Pyrenees.

In the meantime, head to our Favourite Rides page on the website if you want to see more or let us know your favourite ride and we'll check it out!

Ride number 7: Col de Hourquette d'Ancizan.
At 1,564m, this col lies in between the valleys of Payolle and the Aure. At 10.3km it's a nice length but with an average of 7.82% it's tough and falls into the Cat 1 of climbs. It's featured in the TDF this year on stage 12 which goes from Toulouse to Bagneres-de-Bigorre on the 18th July and could be a great place to watch the Tour pass. Find out more about this year's tour here.

Got a col worth mentioning? Let me know and I'll include it in the blog for you!

The valley of Payolle is beautiful all year round, but as the leaves turn and Autumn hits, it is truly spectacular.

A Cat 1 Climb with average gradient of 7.82%
The Hourquette d'Ancizan (1564m) is a passage between the valley of Campagn and the valley of Arreau, much like the col d'Aspin (1490m) and the col de Beyrede (1417m).
