Our Favourite Rides

Have you been keeping up with our favourite local rides blog over the last few weeks? Did you catch last week's feature on the Col du Tourmalet?

Due to popular demand, this week's ride is to the market square of Marciac, made famous by the Jazz Festival that transforms the town for 3 weeks every summer. We cycled over to Marciac last week with our first guests of the season just to check out the ride for you! It did not disappoint, and neither did the amazing lunch sitting in one of the many sun drenched restaurants in the square.

Over the next few weeks, I'll continue to add some more of our favourite rides onto the blog for you to see where we cycle to from our base at Allons y Pyrenees.

In the meantime, head to our Favourite Rides page on the website if you want to see more or let us know your favourite ride and we'll check it out!

Ride number 4: The historic market town of Marciac.
This is a great little ride at any time of the year and the sunny square makes a perfect lunch stop. With its bustling cafes and market stalls this is a great spot to spend a few hours chilling. Over the summer, with the arrival of the Jazz Festival, the town transforms into a maze of music and the market stalls expand into the back streets with pop up bands on street corners to entertain you and parties going on long into the night.

Got a col worth mentioning? Let me know and I'll include it in the blog for you!
The market is well worth a visit on a Wednesday.
Marciac
With restaurants nestled under the vaults and spilling out into the sunny square, this is a get place to stop for lunch.
This ride is easily extendable if you want to stretch your legs a bit more. Continue to ride on through Marciac and into Armagnac country to Plaisance, which is rather pleasant, and takes the loop to around 60 miles.
